1984 2CV Bleu de Tropiques.  New condition, one owner, 12'000 miles original (19500 km).

1984 Citroen 2CV in Bleu des Tropiques.  Barn find, one owner, just 19’600 km!  The car’s purchase history is fully documented.  She was sold by the Citroen Dealer in Saint-Céré (Dept 46, South Central France) on 9-28-84 to M. Anthony Ginibre, farmer, aged 76 at the time.  The car was used little for the first few years, then stored away in the barn when M. Ginibre became unable to drive.  Recently the family put her up for sale.  We were fortunate to hear about it and make the purchase.  2CVs like this just don’t come around anymore!
The 2CV was transported to a colleague of mine in the Netherlands who operates one of the best 2CV restoration facilities there.  A thorough evaluation was performed.  Because the car had been off the road for so long, and because she was covered in scratches and minor dings, it quickly became obvious that she would have to be repainted.  The car was stripped, new front fenders and bumpers were installed and a high quality new paint job was applied.  The convertible roof was replaced, new cabin upholstery was installed, the seat rubbers were replaced etc.  Next she was thoroughly sorted out mechanically.  The gas tank was cleaned, she received a complete new exhaust system, front and rear brakes were done, rear wheel bearings were replaced, the engine received a major service, all the fluids were changed, 5 new wheel rims and new Michelin tires were fitted.  The engine was upgraded with a 123 electronic ignition system, and the roof was upgraded with the “inside locking” mechanism.  She has three point retractable seat belts in the front and lap belts in the rear.

The car is truly beautiful, and she drives like a new 1984 2CV.
