1986 Citroen 2CV Club Rouge Vallelunga # 8381
This superb late model 2CV received a new chassis approximately three years ago. At that time she also received four new shock absorbers, five new wheel rims, all new stainless steel brake lines, new brake calipers and rotors. The car also received an excellent quality new paint job.
Just recently the second part of the restoration was completed by Burton Car Co. in the Netherlands. She received a new convertible roof, a new right front fender, a new right side turn signal assembly, new rear brake cylinders and brake shoes, new heater exhaust ducts, a new lower firewall and new floor boards. Those parts were repainted as needed. A new exhaust system was installed.
The engine received a major service. All fluids and filters were changed, new spark plugs and cables installed and the valves were adjusted. A rebuilt carburetor was installed, and rejetted for today’s fuel. A “123 Electronic Ignition” was also fitted.
The odometer reads 06647 km. Based on the excellent condition of the car the mileage is most likely 1066447, or just 66’000 miles.. The engine runs smooth and strong, the transmission works great. There is no evidence of any oil leaks. Brakes and steering are excellent. Please note, this car has the late model 602cc engine, a double barrel carburetor, disc brakes on the front, and drums on the rear. The tires are Michelin and have good tread. This is a very handsome 2CV with excellent paint and interior, and a soundly running car! The cars return great fuel mileage and are a lot of fun to drive. These late model 2CVs have plenty of power to keep up with modern traffic in the city, and will drive along happily all day long at 65 mph on the highway. They are famously reliable, and if you’d need anything parts are readily available and inexpensive.
