1983 Citroen 2CV Special, Beige Colorado, #2036
This superb late model 2CV was just completed by one of the leading 2CV restoration specialists in the Netherlands. She is in close to "As New" condition. She was purpose built from the ground up, using a large number of new components. Here are some of the highlights, starting with a new galvanized factory chassis. New floor boards, door-sills, lower fire wall, new fenders, new bumpers, new bumper brackets and over riders. A bare metal, high quality new paint job inside and out. The floor boards and bottom panels received a rocker-schutz coating. New turn signal assemblies, new halogen headlight units, a new headlight bar, a complete exhaust system, four new shock absorbers, new drive shaft boots, all new heater hoses, stainless steel brake lines, left and right rear view mirrors, seat upholstery, cabin upholstery, fire wall and under-hood sound deadening panels, and a new convertible roof. The windshield and rubber gasket were replaced, new rubber door seals were installed. Five new wheel rims, five new tires. The engine received a major tune up, new spark plugs and cables, a new oil filler/breather assembly, and an electronic ignition system and voltage regulator. All the engine sheet-metal and heater boxes have been powder coated. A new battery was installed. She comes with two key sets.
The engine runs smooth and strong and starts at the first touch of the key. The transmission works great. There is no evidence of any oil leaks. Brakes and steering are excellent. She has disc brakes on the front, and drums on the rear. This is a very handsome 2CV with excellent paint and interior, and a soundly running car! The cars return great fuel mileage and are a lot of fun to drive. These late model 2CVs have plenty of power to keep up with modern traffic in the city, and will drive along happily all day long at 65 mph on the highway. They are famously reliable, and if you’d need anything parts are readily available and inexpensive.
